Duportail Bridge
Phase I

Owner: City of Richland
Location: Richland, WA
Budget: $25,433,718

Apollo’s scope of work included the multiyear construction of a new six segment precast concrete bridge spanning the Yakima River.  This multi season project included elements of concrete bridge construction, cast in place noise walls, cast in place irrigation canal replacement, phased installation of a new 42” thru 8” water system that replaced the City of Richlands original 36” concrete reinforced main.  Other elements of the project included drilled concrete shafts, micro pile installation, sewer lift station shoring and installation, traffic signal installation, roadway illumination and various in water activities that required seasonal coordination with multiple environmental agencies.  The project was completed 4 months ahead of the original project completion and opened to City of Richland traffic.

Garwood Road Grade Separation & Frontage Roads

Contract Amount: $11,235,040

Apollo’s scope of work includes the removal of an at-grade intersection on US-95 and Garwood Rd, construction of 2 miles of new frontage roads and the installation of a new overpass at US-95 and Garwood Rd.  The US95 overpass consists of a 4 span precast girder bridge that includes 3,500 square feet of MSE retaining wall, 42,000 tons of ¾” Type A for base, traffic control, utility relocations and traffic signal removal and relocation.

Budget: $7,583,000

Apollo’s scope of work included construction a new intake and pumping structure.  New intake structure is a circular concrete wet well approximately 30-foot diameter extending approximately 85 feet below finished grade, 36” steel pipe installed by microtunnel boring and extending approximately 220 feet out into river with cylindrical submerged intake screens and automated screen cleaning system.  New pump station included CMU building with vertical turbine pumps, process piping, instrumentation, controls and electrical.  Installation of 700 linear feet of new 30” pipe from the pump station building over to the West Pasco Water Treatment Plant.
